Dining chair: the height you need, and what else to check
The chair seems to be the simplest object in the room. That is why he is chosen for his appearance - and then sits on the sidelines.
The dining chair works for two to three hours a day and should stand as long as the table. There are three things worth looking at in the characteristics, and color is not the first among them.
Seat height is the number that decides everything
A seat of about 45 cm is required under a standard 75 cm table. Less - the knees rest from below, more - the elbows hang above the table, and in an hour it is felt in the shoulders.
The height is in the characteristics of each model. If the tabletop is non-standard - and in ceramic tables it is thicker - measure from the floor to the bottom of the tabletop, not to its top: that is where your knees will go.
Frame: metal, wood, chipboard
The metal frame is visually thinner and holds more for the same thickness. The wooden one is warmer in appearance and quieter - it does not rattle against the tile every time it is moved. Chipboard is found in the foundations and is afraid of moisture precisely at the joints.
The material of the frame is a separate line in the characteristics, the color of the frame is another: in some models it contrasts with the seat, in some it matches it.
Seat Material: Looks vs. Practice
- —Velvet is the deepest color, but it shows marks and piles in spots
- —Linen is more practical and calm, works well with a bright kitchen
- —Textured corduroy is a compromise: voluminous in appearance, more tolerable than velvet
- —Dense fabric is the most durable for daily use
How many should there be
The guideline for the table is 60 cm of perimeter per person. A round table with a diameter of 100 cm is four chairs, 120 cm - five, 140 cm - six. It is possible to bet more physically, sitting comfortably is not.
And leave 70 cm from the edge of the table to the nearest wall or furniture: this is the chair plus the passage behind it when someone is sitting on it.
