Corner or straight sofa: what to choose for the living room
The question is not which one is better. The question is how much room are you willing to give up.
A corner sofa looks more solid in almost any interior - in the photo. In the room, the decision is made by another: how much space it takes up and what you will do with it in two years when you rearrange it.
Main figure: depth
A straight sofa protrudes into the room by 100–110 cm. A corner sofa in the corner part — by 160–170 cm, because there is a couch on which the legs are stretched. The difference is half a meter, and it is all taken away from the passage zone.
Add to this 60-70 cm per passage, and you can see the true price of a corner: it eats up more than two meters from the wall. In the living room from 18 m² it is imperceptible, in 14 m² it is half the room.
When the corner wins
- —It is necessary to plant a company, and the living room is of a normal size - it covers two walls instead of one
- —There is a niche or a corner that would otherwise stand empty
- —The sofa will be the main place of rest, and not just a seat next to the TV
When straight is better
It does not dictate planning. It is placed against a wall, in a wall, or with its back to the room as a border between zones — and when rearranged, it is simply moved, rather than replanning the room.
The width in our lines is set in steps of 10–20 cm, so a straight sofa fits the niche more precisely. Some models are assembled from independent modules that can be rearranged.
What you should know before ordering a corner
The side of the couch - left or right - is specified when ordering, and there is no extra charge for a mirror layout: the sofa is still made for you.
Each model has a niche for linen in the seat. The niche in the very corner is a separate option, not something that comes by default. If storage is critical, tell the manager before checkout.
