Sofa folding mechanisms: what «єврокнижка» actually covers
The mechanism named in a product description tells you less than it looks like it does. Here is what sits behind it.
If you open five stores and read the description of the same sofa, the mechanism may be called differently. This is not the fault of the sellers - there is simply no single vocabulary in the industry, and each factory uses its own.
Therefore, the name of the mechanism is not a sign that should be chosen. Below is what is really behind it.
One family under three names
Eurobook, pull-out, walker - in everyday use, these are names for the same idea: the seat moves forward, the backrest lowers into the freed space, and a flat plane is obtained.
In our dictionary, "euro book" covers this whole family, and this is how all nineteen models of our own production are signed. The differences between the subspecies—whether the seat slides on rollers or "steps" on supports—affects the floor under the sofa, not how you sleep on it.
What really sets the mechanisms apart

- —How much space does the sofa take up when unfolded?
- —Is it possible to unfold it with one hand while holding something in the other
- —What happens to the floor: the rollers under load leave marks on the soft surface
A question that should be asked instead of a title
Instead of "what mechanism is here" it is more useful to ask "how many centimeters will the sofa take up when unfolded, and will there be a joint in the middle." The answer to this number can be measured with a tape measure at home; the answer to the title is no.
All our sofas fold out and all have a linen niche under the seat - these are features of the range, not individual positions. Therefore, the choice between models comes down to size, silhouette and fabric, and not to the mechanism; and how the joint fits is equally checked only lying down.
