A modular sofa: what it means and who it suits
The word "modular" in the catalog means a specific thing, not just "modern".
In the characteristics of the sofa, there is a line "Type: Modular". This is not a marketing word - it means that the sofa is assembled from individual parts that connect to each other, rather than from a single frame.
What follows from this
One and the same set of modules can be placed in a straight row, folded in a corner or placed as an island in the middle of the room. Rearranging does not require new furniture—it just requires a different order of the same parts.
This is the main advantage and the main condition: modularity makes sense where the planning is not yet final. If you know for sure that the sofa will be next to this wall for the next ten years, it gives you nothing.
Who suits?
- —For those who have just moved and have not yet decided how to arrange the living room
- —For rented apartments, the modules will survive several different rooms
- —A living room with a complex shape, where a standard corner does not fit into the geometry
What you should know in advance
Modules are heavy: rearranging them together is the norm, not the exception. And they must stand on an even floor: on an uneven joint, they diverge, and a gap appears between the parts.
The size of the kit consists of the dimensions of the modules, so you need to measure the total in the configuration you plan - the straight line and the corner occupy different areas from the same parts.
Modular ≠ angular
A corner sofa has a fixed L-shape: the couch is on the left or right, and this decision is made when ordering forever. Modular is a set from which the corner can be assembled and disassembled tomorrow.
In the characteristics, they are marked with different values of the same "Type" line, so it will not work to confuse them in the catalog.
