What you can change in a made-to-order sofa — and what you cannot
Everyone writes about "possible". It is more useful to know what cannot be done and why.
The phrase "made to your size" sounds as if everything can be changed. This is not the case, and it is better to learn about the limits before ordering, not after.
What changes freely
- —Width and depth - for your room
- —Straight or angular version of the same model
- —The side of the couch in the corner — left or right, no extra charge
- —The width of the armrests, one armrest instead of two or none
- —Any fabric from available collections
The armrest cannot be added later
This is most often a frustration, and it is technical, not commercial. A sofa without an armrest is a module upholstered on the sides: where the armrest should be attached, there is fabric, not fasteners.
Fasteners are placed at the production stage. That's why "I'll take it without an armrest for now, then I'll order more" doesn't work — the decision is made once, before starting work.
It is better not to touch the depth of the seat
It is technically possible to change the depth, but it affects the layout: the mechanism is designed for a specific geometry, and when the depth is changed, the sleeping place turns out to be uneven.
Therefore, the manager warns about such a change separately. If you need to win centimeters, it is more reliable to play with width than with depth.
Design changes are a separate conversation
It is possible to redraw the proportions of the model at the request of the customer, but this is a recalculation of the cost, and the factory is not responsible for the aesthetic result of such a change: the model was drawn in other proportions.
A niche in the corner part is also a separate option, not something that comes by default. Each model has a niche in the seat.
A rule that saves time
Everything related to the design is decided BEFORE launch and not decided after. Send the measurements and wishes to the manager for registration — the calculation of changes is made in advance, and not when the sofa is already in the workshop.
