How to choose fabric for a sofa
The fabric is the only part of the sofa that you see every day. And the only one that cannot be evaluated from the screen.
You will never see the frame and filling again. You see the fabric every day - and it is the fabric that will first show that the sofa is several years old.
More than two hundred collections. Below - by what signs to narrow the choice, so as not to go through them all.
Categories: what is included in the price
Fabrics of the basic category are included in the price of the sofa - they are full-fledged fabrics, not "minimum equipment". Premium collections add to the price, and exactly how much depends on the specific one.
The fabric that is not in our collections is counted separately: it must be found, ordered and waited for. It is possible, but it is another term.
Four properties worth asking about
- —Water repellency — the spill is not absorbed immediately, there is time to wipe it off
- —Anti-claw is a structure in which the claw does not pull out the loop; critical for a home with animals
- —Wear resistance is measured by abrasion cycles, and in good collections it is tens of thousands
- —Easy to clean - can it be washed with a regular detergent, or is it dry-cleaned?
Texture decides more than color
The mat is rough to the touch and the most tolerant to daily friction. Chenille is softer and warmer. Velor is the most pleasant to the hand, but it is on it that peeling appears the fastest in places of folding - and on a folding sofa, the folding works every day.
If the sofa will be a daily sleeping place, the texture is more important than the shade: you choose the shade from ten options, and the friction is the same for all.
The screen lies twice
The first time is with color: the monitor shows its shade, and at home you have your lighting, and beige in a warm lamp and in daylight are two different beiges.
The second time — with a texture: the screen does not show it at all. That's why we mail samples free — keep them in your room under your light and rub them on your hand. The entire palette is also on display in the showroom where collections can be compared side by side.
One limitation
You can choose a fabric that is available at the supplier. The fabric is ordered already after you have confirmed your choice, and this is a separate stage from which the deadline is most often shifted. The manager checks availability before registration.
