A springless mattress is a solid block of layers, not a frame of springs. Hence its main property: it does not transmit motion. If two people sleep on the mattress and one gets up at night, the other will not feel it.
Stiffness here is determined by layers, not springs: dense polyurethane foam provides even medium support, coconut coir increases stiffness, latex softens, and a shape memory layer adheres to the body. The specific set of layers and the final stiffness are in the characteristics of the model.
Questions and answers
- Springless or with springs?
- This is not a question of quality, but a question of weight. Up to 90 kg per sleeping place, a springless block keeps its shape no worse than a spring block and benefits from the fact that it does not transfer movement to its neighbor. From 90 to 100 kg, independent springs distribute the load better, because they work pointwise.
- Is it possible to put it on a solid foundation?
- Yes, but the base must be ventilated. On the slats, this happens by itself; on a solid shield or podium without holes, the mattress does not dry out from below, and then it should be lifted and turned once every few months.
